The Miss North Carolina pageant was this past weekend, and we were thrilled to see Victoria Huggins crowned Miss North Carolina 2017.

Victoria experienced many firsts during her life here in Fayetteville.

The first major venue she sang at was the Crown Coliseum, and in 2013, she was crowned Miss Fayetteville.

She has also held the title of Miss Central Carolina (2014), Miss Greater Southeastern (2015), and Miss Wilmington (2016). She competed in the 2017 Miss North Carolina pageant as Miss Greater Sampson County.

Victoria graduated from UNC Pembroke in 2015 and moved to Wilmington to work for TV station WECT. She is now a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University.

Yesterday (June 26), Don Chase was able to interview Victoria on air. Check out his interview below.

Congrats to Victoria Huggins on her new title, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things she’ll do this year!
