Police officers in Fayetteville were dispatched to a local grocery store this evening amid reports of a shooting.

When they arrived at the Carlie C’s IGA grocery store, they found one person suffering from a gun shot wound. The individual died as a result of the shooting.

According to WNCT, the shooting was reported around 7:30 p.m. this evening.

At this time, it appears an altercation occurred in the parking lot of the store before shots were fired.

It was not immediately known if any anyone else was injured during the incident.

A short time ago, the Fayetteville Police Department posted a tweet on their Twitter account asking for witnesses to come forward. A reward of up to $1K is currently being offered.
