Earlier today, Dale Earnhardt Jr. uploaded a video to his Twitter account where he opened up about the time he told his dad he wanted to quit racing.

The conversation stemmed from an incident that occurred at Darlington Raceway. There's a reason it's called "The Track Too Tough to Tame."

According to Earnhardt, while racing at Darlington Raceway during his rookie year, he fell back in the race due to an issue with his car.

While his crew did take a look at the vehicle, they couldn't find the source of the problem. Earnhardt also felt as though his concerns were not really being heard.

And just like that, he was out of the race -- refusing to get back into a car that was having issues.

After the race, Dale and his dad flew home by helicopter, and it was then that he told his dad he didn't want to race anymore.

A trip to the garage the next day would reveal his car had suffered a stripped axle during the race.
