The announcement was made public via the Kensington Palace Twitter account earlier today.
The press release stated that both sides of the family were thrilled regarding the pregnancy. The release also made note that Kate was suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, an extreme form of morning sickness.
This is the third pregnancy for The Duchess of Cambridge, and Kate suffered from severe morning sickness with her previous pregnancies as well.
There is no word yet on when the baby is due.
