Jason Aldean is speaking out publicly about the moments after the Vegas shooting.

According to People Magazine, during a recent interview with the Today show, the country star opened up about the tragic incident.

At first, when the shooting began, Aldean had no idea shots were being fired, rather he thought perhaps a speaker had blown.

Because he and the band wear monitors in their ears, it’s understandable that the sound of gunfire was muffled.

However, after the gunman fired a second round of shots into the crowd, Jason heeded the warning from one of his band member’s and rushed off the stage.

Aldean also recalls both his guitar player and security guard running towards him and telling him to run.
