It sounds like Swift is indeed returning to country radio again.
By all accounts, Swift is still considered a pop artist, however, several artists cross over and maintain hits on both the Country and Top 40 charts -- and Taylor is no exception.
According to The Tennessean, Swift's new song “New Year’s Day,” is slated to be released on country radio. "New Year's Day" is the one song that stood out on Swift's latest album Reputation as being more like what we had come to expect from the old Taylor.
While her return to country radio might seem like a surprise, Swift has always left the door open. In fact, she wrote "Better Man" for Little Big Town -- much to the delight of country fans. As you know, the song earned a CMA Award for Song of the Year.
It's been three years since Swift landed on the country charts, so here's to hoping "New Year's Day" climbs to the top and inspires Swift to continue releasing more country hits.
