The board of directors of the Metro Nashville Airport Authority’s is short a member.

According to the Tennessean, country star Dierks Bentley has resigned from his position on the board.

The news comes after the former CEO filed a wrongful termination lawsuit, claiming that he was fired due to being ill. Bentley failed to turn offer electronic communication regarding the termination.

The country star, who was appointed to the board in 2017, reportedly cited a busy schedule as the reason for resigning — Admitting he was letting his other board members down.

The letter made no mention of the emails and texts Bentley has yet to turn over.

However, the board insists that the former CEO was fired due to his inability to perform the duties expected in his position.

As for Bentley’s now vacant seat on the board, he will most likely be replaced by a real estate executive.
