The CMA Awards were jam packed with amazing hosts, presenters, and performers -- So-much-so that you may not have noticed Vince Gill was absent.

According to Classic Country Music, Gill was forced to miss the awards show due to being hospitalized.

Gill was originally slated to perform at the awards show with Ricky Skaggs, but Keith Urban and John Osborne stepped in to save the night.

The country star is currently recovering at home after a reported kidney stone.

He is expected to be okay.

Meanwhile, Osborne had a little chuckle at Gill's expense, saying that his kidney stone was the best thing that happened to him. Of course, he was joking, well sort of.

Getting to perform with Ricky Skaggs is definitely an honor, but I'm sure given the choice, Osbourne would have liked to see Gill healthy and up on stage.
