The team here at WKML has been slinging out great music to you all year. But what are the tracks that have stood out most to the team in 2018? Here’s a look at everybody’s favorite from the world of country (and maybe a little beyond) for the year, starting with Don Chase!

BIG BOY ELROY
Mid-Day
10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

1. LUKE COMBS – “HOUSTON, WE GOT A PROBLEM”

Big Boy Elroy is going next level with his top song of 2018. Reaching for a track that wasn’t released as a single to country radio, but was probably the best track on “This One’s For You Too”. The deluxe version of his debut album, released on the 1 year anniversary of the original release date, featured five new tracks. One of those tracks was this wonderful track we hope finds some time on the radio in 2019.

2.  LUKE COMBS – “WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS”

Oh, hey look, it’s Luke again! Country radio definitely heard this one, and we won’t hold it against Big Boy Elroy that this track actually hit No. 1 in 2017. It was inescapable in 2018 as well.

3. LUKE COMBS – “BEAUTIFUL CRAZY”

No, there’s no truth to the rumor that Big Boy Elroy’s radio got stuck on every Luke Combs track this year. He was just THAT big in 2018. And this beautiful track was a great counter to the more uptempo tracks that made Luke a superstar.

4. THOMAS RHETT – “LIFE CHANGES”

Oh look! It’s not Luke Combs this time. Rhett’s 11th country No. 1 was a powerhouse fun ode to the wild and crazy lives we live.

5. WALKER HAYES – “YOU BROKE UP WITH ME”

Walker’s ode to moving on from the negatives of the past hit the Top 10 on country radio early in 2018, and it rounds out the year as a Top 5 for Big Boy Elroy.
