The team here at WKML has been slinging out great music to you all year. But what are the tracks that have stood out most to the team in 2018? Here’s a look at everybody’s favorite from the world of country (and maybe a little beyond) for the year, starting with Don Chase!

Check out the rest of our team’s Top 5’s:

SCOTTY MCCREERY – “FIVE MORE MINUTES”

North Carolina’s own made a huge return to country radio in 2018, coming off the heels of his wonderful Stars & Guitars appearance in 2017. Scotty had a great year off the radio as well, as he married Gabi Dugal this year as well. “Five More Minutes” was a huge hit on country radio, giving Scotty his first No. 1 of his career, and a spot on Don Chase’s Top 5 for 2018!

BLAKE SHELTON – “I LIVED IT”

Blake may be the king of entertainment right now, but a return to his roots got him back to country radio in a big way. “I Lived It”, written in part by Rhett Atkins, reached No. 3 on the country charts early in 2018.

LUKE COMBS – “SHE GOT THE BEST OF ME”

Luke Combs was arguably the biggest star of country music in 2018, as “She Got the Best of Me” was his fourth straight country No. 1.

DAVID LEE MURPHY & KENNY CHESNEY – “EVERYTHING’S GONNA BE ALRIGHT”

What a comeback year this was for David Lee Murphy, most famously known for “Dust on the Bottle”, as his duet with Kenny Chesney hit No. 1 AND won him a CMA Award!

DAN & SHAY – “Speechless”

What a way to start your country careers! Dan & Shay owned country music…and the world frankly in 2018. “Speechless” is the latest chart topper for the duo that made “Tequila” famous once again, and the song rounds out Don Chase’s top songs of 2018!
