Love is in the air, as Cupid draws back his bow this week. The WKML team is feeling the love and is ready to share our favorite love songs to help keep you inspired this month. Make sure to share these though, otherwise you’ll find that sleeping on the couch is in the cards for March.

Behind The Scenes

1. JASON ISBELL & THE 400 UNIT – “IF WE WERE VAMPIRES”

There is no more pure notion than that of love being so present. Jason Isbell (alongside wife and bandmate Amanda Shires) challenges everything we know about love with the idea that the reason we are able to love someone so much is because it has to end. If it were to just go on, we’d take it all for granted.

2. LOREN ALRED – “NEVER ENOUGH”

On the opposite end of the love spectrum, what if it’s not possible to contain it? What if it’s never enough. This “The Greatest Showman” double-meaning power ballad nails the complex emotions of love.

3. CHELY WRIGHT – “IT WAS”

It was real. It was magic. It was calm. It was savage. It was cool as a breeze. It was warm to the touch. It was never enough. It was always too much. It did all the things love does. That’s how I knew…it was.

4. THE BEACH BOYS – “GOD ONLY KNOWS”

Brian Wilson and the boys painted a beautiful, gut-wrenching portrait of how deep you can truly love someone. Perhaps the most beautiful love song of all time.

5. ERICK BAKER – “UNBROKEN PROMISE”

Love isn’t always pretty. But when it’s good, it’s so…very…good. Erick Baker takes us somewhere here with a portrait of that imperfect love.

6. CELINE DION – “THE POWER OF LOVE”

No love song list is complete without Celine belting out the greatest power ballad of all time.
