A Mother writes to Don Chase & Sarah, “our kids’ Summer vacation has gotten off to a rocky start in our house and I need your help.”
I caught our 5 year-old shoplifting candy from a bulk bin at a local grocery store. When I told my husband, he said it was no big deal and got our son to promise to never do it again. I don’t think my son has learned a lesson. I want him to go back to the store and apologize and pay for the candy. I also want to take him by our local police station so he can see what happens to people who steal. My husband says my punishment doesn’t fit the crime. Am I overreacting and being too harsh or is my husband being lax? What would you do if you were me?
