-Fayetteville Woodpeckers playoff tickets are on sale (games this weekend…info below)

-One-Stop Voting for 9th Congressional District continues through Sept. 6. At the Board of Elections, 227 Fountainhead Lane in Fayetteville from 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  You may also vote early at the East Regional Branch Library 4809 Clinton Road Sept. 3 – 6 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

-Tickets are on sale for Mannheim Steamroller Nov. 19 at the Crown Theatre in Fayetteville.

-Tickets are on sale for “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Live: King for a Day” tour coming to the Crown Theatre on Saturday, April 25.

-The Cumberland County Fair begins at 5pm on August 30 and continues through Sunday, September 8, 2019

-The Fayetteville Woodpeckers weekend games are scheduled today (8/30) at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 6 p.m. Fireworks follow today’s game. Saturday features a team card sheet giveaway, and Sunday is “Family Funday.” Most tickets are $12 to $17. Call 910-339-1989 or go to

-The Salvation Army serving the Sandhills Region is excited to announce our End of Summer Parking Lot Sale on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Our locations at 433 Robeson Street and 3756 Sycamore Dairy Road will be hosting a Parking Lot Sale from 10 am to 5 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to thrift for unique, affordable, one-of-a-kind items at your favorite Salvation Army Family Store. The Parking Lot Sale is a great way to shop for outstanding deals and help our community at the same time.

-The 13th annual Librari-Con will take place on Saturday, August 31 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Headquarters Library, 300 Maiden Lane.

-D-DAY EXHIBIT: The Airborne & Special Operations Museum, 100 Hay St., will host an exhibit on the 75th anniversary of D-Day through Aug. 31. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information call 910-643-2778 or go to

-Mayor Mitch Colvin invites residents to a community event in downtown Fayetteville on Sunday, Sept. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. Festivities include food trucks, an American Legion barbecue cookoff and live bands. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Hay Street will be blocked off from the Market House to Ray Avenue.
