Don Chase & Sarah’s “What Would You Do Wednesday”

On Saturday, I took my girlfriend's 8 year-old son out for lunch and to play at a local park. During lunch, I asked him

if I could have his mother's hand in marriage. I was shocked when he said NO and didn't give me permission to marry her. He said he wouldn't like that because he already has a father and because he believes his family is just him, his mother and his father. I did not tell my girlfriend what happened. Should I continue with my plans to ask her to marry?
