Alex Coreas was struck by lightning while walking his three dogs, and lived to tell about it. According to People, Coreas was walking his three German Shepherds when the bolt of lightning hit him. It was so powerful that it knocked him to the ground, then simultaneously blew his shoes and socks off his feet.

Alex Coreas has no memory of the event but remembers being airlifted to the hospital. He explained, “My first question was whether my dogs were OK,” which they are. Alex also adds that because of the way he got struck, he is lucky to be alive.

Although he survived the incident, Alex has substantial pain and hearing loss in his left ear.

Surprisingly, the entire incident was caught on a security camera. Watch it on People’s website.
