Who’s ready for Beast Fest? We are! This will be the 13th year of the celebration as the community comes together to enjoy live entertainment, food and craft vendors, and much more. This two day festival, from October 25-26, is said to bring about 6,000-8,000 people to Southeastern North Carolina. Friday kick-off will go on from 5-10 pm and Saturday’s festivities will happen 10 am to 10 pm.
This festival comes around for the area to come together and enjoy something that once was not very enjoyable. In the small southeastern town of Bladenboro, North Carolina, a series of vampire-like killings of pets and livestock occurred in 1953. The large cat creature about 4 to 5 feet long had cries like a baby or woman, but much louder and more terrifying. To this day, it has not been caught. The last weekend of October is the perfect time to celebrate this. Fact or fiction? You decide.
