DES PLAINES, IL - APRIL 14: A Multi-mixer along with milkshake mix and syrup pumps are displayed inside the McDonald's USA First Store Museum April 14, 2005 in Des Plaines, Illinois. The McDonald's museum is a recreation of the first McDonald's restaurant opened at this location by founder Ray Kroc on April 15, 1955. The original red and white tiled restaurant was finally torn down in 1984 and the present facility was built according to the original blueprints with some modifications to accommodate visitors and staff. The customer service and food preparation areas contain original equipment and the all male crew is represented by mannequins dressed in the 1955 uniform of dark trousers, white shirts, aprons and paper hats. We don’t want to cause any sort of panic here, but McDonald’s quietly rolled out a special announcement yesterday that we’re more than a little excited about.

The Golden Arches dropped this Tweet out:

Now, if you’re not familiar with the amazing goodness that is the Shamrock Shake, image a really good milkshake, but make it green and add some mint flavor. Poof. Best shake ever.

And this year, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this beautiful marriage of yummy goodness, they are also dropping an Oreo Shamrock McFlurry. Good thing we didn’t make any weight loss resolutions, cause McDonald’s is ready to just destroy any of those.
