February 16-22 is Random Acts Of Kindness Week! I love that this day of giving back in big and small ways has now extended into a week long celebration!

The foundation has tied in the hashtag #MakeKindnessTheNorm which is a real testament to how much the world could use a little more love and kindness. Which got me thinking, “What are ways that I show kindness every day? Am I thinking too small? How can I improve on this and become even better at showing kindness?” We can show kindness at work, at home, at school, in public, and even show more kindness to ourselves.

As I’ve started focusing more and more on my own self-care this year, I realized how badly I need to show more kindness to myself. Not only with taking more time out for the things I love, but by being better to my body and mind. Admittedly, my self-talk has never been the best. We naturally are our own worst critics, and I’m guilty of being less than loving to myself.

So this week, while taking some time out and going the extra mile to show kindness to others… I will also be showing kindness to myself. I’ve comprised a list of affirmations and taped them to my bathroom mirror. Reminders such as:

-I am an overcomer
-I am intelligent & successful
-I am beautiful & well-able
-I am happy & content where I am
