Carrie Underwood was not in Nashville last night when the tornado struck the city, but her family was there.
Carrie told The Today Show this morning that she spoke to her husband Mike Fisher. She said, "He said he had to go upstairs at like 2 a.m. and grab the boys and take them down to, we have like a little safe room in our house ... I bet everyone was crying at 2 a.m., like freaking out."
Underwood also added that right now everyone is mostly "assessing" the situation and texting friends and family members to check that they are safe.
