Luke Combs On Eric Church’s CMA Entertainer Win: ‘No One Ever Deserved Anything More’
Luke Combs was a multiple winner at last night’s (11/11) CMA Awards taking home trophies for Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.
Backstage after his wins, Luke talked about how nice it was to be back together with some of his peers for the first time in 2020. He told us, “I got to be with my wife and sit at a table with some other folks and hang out with some artists which was amazing.”
He added, “And just to feel that sense of community and feel like we’re kind of turning a corner a little bit on this thing (pandemic) and making progress to figure out when we will all be together was incredible. I’m just thankful for a great night and great friends and country music.”
Combs was also happy to see one of his musical heroes Eric Church take home the Entertainer of the Year honor. Luke said, “I was pumped to see Eric win Entertainer tonight. Without him there’s no me. I think no one has ever deserved anything more than he deserved to win that trophy tonight. As much as I wanted to win, I couldn’t have been more excited for him too.”
