The first round of Olympic Women’s Soccer begins today (July 21) with Team USA in heavy contention to take home the gold.

The last time Team USA was on the top podium for Women’s Soccer was during the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Per US Soccer, the 18-player roster is made up of 11 players who were on the 2016 Olympics team that competed in Rio, and 17 players on this roster were part of Team USA’s 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup championship team.
