Carrie Underwood usually keeps her personal and political beliefs close to the chest, but yesterday (8/17) she slipped a bit she liked an anti-mask Tweet from conservative commentator and host of The Matt Walsh Show, Matt Walsh on Twitter.
The reaction and fan backlash have been severe.
In the Tweeted video clip, Walsh said that he believes Covid-19 poses “almost no threat to our kids at all,” and that a mask mandate should be seen as “child abuse.” He went on to criticize the school board for “teaching them that the air is toxic, that everyone around them is sick.”

So let me get this straight. Progressive celebs are allowed to fundraise for Democratic candidates, shower Planned Parenthood with glory, and call for defunding the police, but Carrie Underwood, who never says a word about politics, may not *like a Matt Walsh tweet.*

Walsh commented about the backlash himself tweeting:
