Listen To Garth Brooks’ Mother’s 1950s Nashville Recording
Garth Brooks’ mom, Colleen, was his biggest cheerleader. She was also a singer in Nashville and had a record contract.
As Brooks offered in a Mother’s Day press release, even though she passed away years ago at the age of 70 from cancer, the superstar and his family have found their own unique way of celebrating Colleen.
Garth said, “What we’ve done is we’ve used her birthday as a chance to get everybody together. ‘Cause when Mom left, the family pretty much just kinda went apart, you know, ’cause she’s like – moms are always the glue. So [on] her birthday, everybody kinda gets together…and it’s a great day.”
His mother was known in Nashville as Colleen Carroll. We found a recording of her from the 1950s.
