A Lee County man from Broadway is celebrating today, after becoming the latest millionaire from a North Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off win.
John Rosser nabbed the $1 million prize on a $10 Jumbo Bucks ticket. He bought the ticket at Value Mart on Carthage Street in Sanford.
Rosser took the lump sum prize, giving him $600,000, and then taking home $426,063 after state and federal taxes were withheld.
Ticket sales from scratch-off games make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $900 million per year for education. For details on how $4.5 million raised by the lottery made a difference in Lee County in 2021, visitĀ www.nclottery.comĀ and click on the āImpactā section.
