A beloved food booth won't be returning to the North Carolina State Fair, after more than 100 years in operation.

One of the oldest, and most beloved food booths at the North Carolina State Fair is calling it quits.

The Raleigh News & Observer is reporting that the booth known for its country ham biscuits will not be returning.

First United Methodist Church of Cary and White Plains United Methodist Church have operated the booth for more than 100 years. Staffing issues caused by COVID-19 were the primary reasons.

“The reality is that for many members of both churches, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect their lives in many ways,” Phillips told the News & Observer. “After prayerful consideration it was determined that we simply did not have enough support from the members of both churches to staff the hundreds of volunteer hours that the fair booth entails.”
