Zac Brown Band canceled a show in Vancouver Friday night (10/21) after some crew members were denied entry into Canada at the border.
Zac told People after the incident, "We are a family, a tribe. We stick together and support each other, and we never leave anyone behind."
In a statement shared with the press, Brown said about canceling the show just hours before they were to go on at Rogers Arena, "We're sorry to announce that we won't be able to perform in Vancouver tonight. Our Canadian fans are incredible, and we would love nothing more than to share an evening of music together. Some of our crew members had charges on their records from over a decade ago that have since been removed. Our team has regularly performed in Canada for ten years, including two performances this year alone."
The band did say that every time they've traveled to Canada, they "have been at the mercy of a single border agent who decides who is allowed in to work, and unfortunately, not everyone was able to make it in the country last night."
Zac added, "As a band that prides themselves on showing up with excitement and professionalism, we will always play where we are welcome and appreciated, and we're so sorry we can't be there tonight."
The Zac Brown Band is currently on the road through November for their "Out in the Middle Tour."
Before they canceled the show over the weekend (10/21), the band posted to Instagram, "Back out on the road this weekend… only 7 shows left on this tour! Where do you want to see us live in 2023?"
One excited fan responded to that post, "Love to see y'all in Vegas and/or Northern California. We will see you in Oakland in three weeks!!"
Zac Brown celebrates his 41st birthday today. So we celebrate with a look at the man in action doing what he loves best, performing for fans all over the world.
Brown resumes his "The Owl Tour" on Saturday (8/3) with a show in George, Washington at the Watershed Festival.
