Their Story: The Big 95.7 KML and our listeners are giving back to our community this holiday season. Listeners have nominated families they know who are in need this year. Our final family this season is one we’re keeping anonymous, and this is the nominating person’s story:

“(This family) has fallen on hard times. She’s a single mom and tries hard to provide for her family. She works 2 jobs and she doesn’t ask for help because she feels others struggles are bigger than hers. Her truck recently broke down and she’s having a hard time finding the funds to repair it. This truck is her means to provide for her family and right now she’s not able to do that. She’s the parent of one of my students and it breaks my heart of all that she’s going through.”

The family will receive a $500 gift card from Black River Entertainment, and a $100 gift card from Foust Heating and Air Conditioning. We have organized this GoFundMe campaign to help with additional expenses, and your support will directly go to Kristy Locklear.

December is here and that means we’re fully allowed to move on from Thanksgiving and get in the Christmas spirit in North Carolina. What better way that by celebrating the best Christmas towns in the country?!

Travel + Leisure recently put together a list of the best Christmas towns in the U.S. Included in there is a somewhat surprising coastal city right here in North Carolina.
