Kelsea Ballerini has openly discussed the breakup of her marriage with Morgan Evans in the press. Recently she spoke to Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, saying, "There were separations, there was years of couples therapy. There was like, many a night of sleeping on the couch. I don't think it was the first night. But it was a night where I was like, 'This is not what I want.'"

She continued, "I slept on the couch the night before the CMAs. I remember I went to rehearsal at the arena and texted him. 'I'll just see you at the carpet.'"

After nearly five years of marriage, the "Half Of My Hometown" singer filed for divorce in August of 2022. She was only 23 years old when she got engaged; Morgan Evans is roughly eight years older.

Ballerini went into detail about the divorce proceedings. She isn't happy about  how things are going. "As he's putting out a song about being blindsided, he's taking half the house that he didn't pay for. How was I married to this person for this long and I had no idea that that bit of character was tucked within that human being?"

The two have obviously had their differences, as is the case in any divorce. But following Kelsea's interview on Call Her Daddy, along with her short film, Morgan Evans spoke out. You can see his thoughts below.

It's uncanny (and obvious) that this is all about Morgan Evansthat even the actor looks like him!!

He noted that he loved Ballerini "with all my heart," but feels that she hasn't told the whole story. But he requested that people don't be mean to her.

"Couldn't be more proud"

This was after she filed for divorce.
