North Carolina Has Best City To Travel Solo In The US
If you’re one for traveling solo, then you may want to add these cities to your travel list. Good Housekeeping, a women’s interest magazine compiled a list of the 20 best solo travel destinations in the United States. They factored in variables such as walkability, safety, self-care opportunities, number of historic sites, access to nature, and others. Their list features places ranging from mountain and beach destinations to small towns and large cities.

Asheville is full of history, scenic views, hiking trails, shopping, breweries, and more. The publication said that the city has an impressive range of offerings for all types of interests.
If you’re a fan of history, you can check out the Biltmore Estate. Maybe shopping is more your scene, then you can always hit the Grove Arcade. When it comes to scenic views and exploring the trails, the Blue Ridge Mountains are available. There is even something for art lovers exploring Asheville solo, at the River Arts District.

They kicked off the list with Saratoga Springs, New York. They said the upstate New York town is a short Amtrak ride from New York City, so it’s ideal for people looking for a quick solo escape. This town also features horse races at the historic Saratoga Race Track, concerts at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and mineral spring baths at the Saratoga Spa State Park.
Wrapping up the list is South Bend, Indiana in the number 20 spot. Though at the bottom of the list, Good Housekeeping says that college towns make for the perfect solo traveler getaway. South Bend has a three-story automotive museum, two art museums, a gorgeous neo-Gothic church, the Morris Performing Arts Center, and a scenic riverfront park. It also has several chocolate shops, the Indiana Whiskey Company for tastings.
