Kane Brown's new song "I Can Feel It" is getting a lot of attention  because it uses the iconic drum fill from Phil Collins' 1981 hit "In The Air Tonight."

In a recent interview, Kane talked about having the Phil Collins sample in the song. He said he "got it originally" when he was playing Stagecoach in April. Brown noted, "I wanted Phil Collins to come out on stage with me; I thought it would be cool." Collins has sung on several hits from his band Genesis and as a solo artist, but he's also a highly respected drummer.  Unfortunately, due to health issues, Collins is no longer able to play the drums. Last year, Genesis played their final show of a reunion tour; Collins sang on the tour, but didn't play drums. He hasn't performed since that show.

So, the rock icon did not join Kane on stage that night, but he did give his blessing on using the sample in the song. Brown says he ended up "writing to his song." He revealed, "We were sampling that big drum fill, and the title is 'I Can Feel It,' so it's, I can feel it in the air tonight."

Kane's lyrics of his new song include, "I can feel it in the air, feel it in the whiskey in my hand / In your hips, your body tells me when you start to dance / Maybe this is turning to a "We should probably get up out of here" / Oh, baby, I swear, I can feel it in the air (I can feel it) / I can feel it."

Brown recently talked about how he went from Lowe's employee to country music superstar in a new interview on NBC News's Sunday Today with Willie Geist,, which will air on Sunday (9/17).

Kane said he was working at Lowe's, mixing paint and doing a lot of singing: "I was singing. My buddy ended up hearing me and telling me to try out for the talent show."

He said that he got an encore when he tried out for the talent show. It was the encore that "sparked" his desire to sing. He said, "That's what sparked everything."

Kane Brown has has become a massive country music star over the last five years. In fact he has become one of the biggest stars in any genre of music.

We celebrate him today (10/21) as he celebrates his 29th birthday, and his wife pays tribute to him on social media. Katelyn wrote, posting many photos of him on stage, as a dad, as a husband, and ever as s hunter, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABE! The most amazing hubby, daddy, friend, and all of the above. God definitely spent a little more time on you, and I feel so blessed to get to live this life with you. You impact everyone you come across, and it's so effortless; you truly are something special. Love you more every day. Thank you, Jesus, for this man."
