Today's Kick Butt Tip of the Day comes from actress Joan Collins. Collins gained tremendous fame playing the role of Alexis Colby in the really popular soap opera "Dynasty" which aired during the 1980s.

From actress Joan Collins, "Show me a person who has never made a mistake and I will show you someone who has never achieved much."

Years ago I got to know a therapist who worked for the Cape Fear Valley Health System. He and I were talking one night after the office had closed when he told me "Don people want me to tell them what they want to hear but it is my job to tell people what they need to hear."

For some of us when we make a mistake, we are ready to throw in the towel and quit. For others when a mistake is made, it teaches us what not to do the next time and motivates us to keep trying.

Also, it is my personal belief that when you make a mistake, you are a little closer to achieving success with the goal or the task at hand.

As an added bonus, do you remember the 1972 song "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon?  Well, in the late 1950's, Joan Collins almost married an actor by the name of Warren Beatty.  At the time, not too many people were aware of Beatty's talents. That would soon change.  For over forty years, music buffs speculated about who the song "You're So Vain" was really about.  In 2014, Carly Simon revealed that the song was about actor Warren Beatty, whom she dated for a short time.

Here's hoping you have an awesome day today.

Remember, God don't make no junk. You are awesome! Now go be awesome.

Sarah’s Monday Playlist: Tigirlily Gold, Tim McGraw and Zach Bryan

Happy 2024! Let's get this new year started right with another Monday playlist. Per usual, these are songs both old and new that I've been listening to lately and can't get enough of.

With a strong entrance to 2024, we have the dynamic duo of Tigirlily Gold. Two sisters that we had the pleasure of hosting here in our very own Studio B sessions. I Tried A Ring On is a song they've been sitting on for a while. I had the honor of hearing it a while back, and I remember thinking "This is it. This is the song." It's one that I can imagine crying to and singing along with live in concert. It's relatable, catchy, and so beautifully produced. I LOVE this song!

Tim McGraw is a superstar in Country music. He helped define the 90s and he proves to this day why he still has lasting sustainability. One Bad Habit reminds me of some of his earlier work but with a modern touch. Tim tiptoes that line of familiarity while experimenting with what works in our more modern sound. This is a solid single from Tim and I look forward to seeing how it does at Country radio. This song and others are available on his EP Poet's Resume.

And last but not least, Zach Bryan has been taking the world by storm and proving that his talent is a sight to behold. I'll admit I'm a bit biased for choosing the song Sarah's Place. But to be fair, I really do like the tune! Plus it includes one of my favorite currents artists out there right now, Noah Kahan. The two of them collaborating together on a song with my name in the title?? Heaven! Pinch me! I hope you find it catchy as well!

Let me know your favorites and what songs you can't get enough of!
