Joe Rogan: Show Your Body That Your Mind Is the Boss
Today’s Kick Butt Tip of the Day is from the King of the Podcasting world, Joe Rogan. “You can’t just wait for things to get perfect. You got to just go out and do stuff. You need discipline because motivation is not there every day. I am missing motivation most days. Sometimes I got more motivation. Sometimes it’s like I feel good. I can’t wait to get to the gym. Once I get going, then I feel great. And I feel great when it’s over, but it’s that beginning part. That’s hard because your body wants to stay comfortable. Every time I start doing things I don’t want to do. I grow. That is a lesson that people need to hear and learn. It’s so important because everybody just wants to be comfortable. Everybody wants to sit on the couch. You have to do the things that you don’t want to do. You show your body that your mind is the boss. Your mind is telling your body what to do and then you have control.”
Here is my personal daily agenda that helps me and maybe it will help you to give you a start on developing your To-Do list.
- Write down every item that “must” be done today. Please do not give into the temptation of writing down things you would “like” to do. That list comes later.
- Now, once the list is completed, put a number one by the least-favorite or most-stressful item, a number two, number three and so on.
- Take action! Do not hesitate! Take action and do not quit until your number one task is complete!
- Before moving on to number two, take a moment to feel the stress relief of having completed the most stressful task of the day. Feels good huh?
- Take action on number two, then number three and so on until all of the “must” items are complete.
- Then and only then, do you make another list of the things you would “like” to do or get done.
- Take action and knock those items off of the list.
- After a few days, this habit will give you so much personal satisfaction. I guarantee, if you stick with this plan, you will feel like a new person in a very short period of time.
Try this plan and let me know how you do. Also, share your plan with me. You might find a more efficient way of getting things done. I am always looking for ways to be more productive.
