Carrie Underwood Is Pressure Canning Her Food

Carrie Underwood is pressure-canning her and her family's food. The country superstar often shares what she has been baking or growing in her big garden near her Nashville home on Instagram Stories. Recently, she posted some of what she was canning on her Instagram.

She posted a video with Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" playing in the background, showing what she had been pressure canning. She picked up many jars to show what they contained, including Elk Venison, Baked Beans, Lentil Carrot Soup, and more.

Carrie captioned the kitchen video clip, "Been getting a lot done with some of the wild game in the fridge…and then some! So nice to have ready-made food on the shelf waiting for us! Much of these were from various @canningdiva books. I took liberties here and there to make them my own, of course!"

Several of her 13 million Instagram fans reacted to the post. One fan wrote, "It's a lost art." Another fan commented, Wow!!! That's a lot of canning!! I'm impressed, Carrie!!" One more fan said, "Your creativity never ceases to amaze me."

Underwood recently said in an interview that she loves Beyonce, who is making a splash in country music with her new album, Cowboy Carter. Carrie talked with Yahoo recently and said the genre has been broadening its fanbase.

Carrie told Yahoo, "There really is something for everybody now. One of the great things about country music, and this is true for music in general, is that every genre has really just broadened itself. If you like things that are more traditional, you can find those." She added, "If you like things that seem more pop, you can find that. If you like things that can cross over into other genres, you can find something that you love." She said that it's "all part of the same family," and she will "always welcome that."

Underwood also said that she loves people like Post Malone, Beyoncé, and Jelly Roll, who are "artists first and foremost." She noted that they kind of "weave in and out of different genres of music," and she thinks that's "really cool." In fact, Underwood recently played concerts opening for a non-country act -- Guns' N Roses -- and covered a few rock songs at those shows.

In the same interview, Carrie said that she actually watches American Idol when she can; it's the show that made her a household name in 2005, when she won. She said, "I try to keep up as best I can." She noted that she thinks "it's all great," adding that at the end of the day, it's "giving people a shot at their dreams."

Carrie Underwood is back in Las Vegas for her Reflection show at Resorts World. This weekend, she has shows on Friday (3/8) and Saturday, but not on Sunday, March 10, which is her 41st birthday.

She is a mom who always makes her young son's birthdays very special with elaborate birthday cakes (a karate cake for her son Isaiah and a Panda basketball cake for her youngest son Jake),  fun adventures, and big parties. However, there is no word on how the country Queen will celebrate her own birthday this year.

When Carrie added 18 shows to her Vegas stint late last year, she told us, "I love being on the road and coming to the fans where they live, but it will also be fun to get to do multiple shows in one place where people will be able to come to get that concert experience and have some fun in Las Vegas at the same time."

Underwood will play shows in Las Vegas through 2024, with dates in May, June, and August. She wrote about the show on Instagram, "We love performing this show for everyone visiting from all over the world, and if you haven't seen it yet, come see us!"

When it comes to making music videos, Carrie is one of country music's finest. She has won the CMT Music Awards' top award of Video of the Year ten times, including her last win in 2022 for her duet music video with Jason Aldean's "If I Didn't Love You."

Picking five of her best videos is no easy task, but we gathered the five we believe rise to the top as the country superstar celebrates her 41st birthday on Sunday (3/10). All five of our picks are CMT Music Video of the Year winners.

It's such a fantastic music video for what is one of her greatest songs. In the award-winning video CMT (it won 2007 Video of The Year), Carrie is seen leaving a parking lot brandishing a Louisville Slugger, having just vandalized her boyfriend's truck for cheating on her. As the video progresses, Underwood takes the stage to sing as various objects behind her, such as lamps, are seen exploding.

At one point, a screenshot of the truck's front seat is seen with Underwood's name carved in it. Eventually, she catches up with her cheating boyfriend with the other woman. After looking shocked for a second, she scoffs and drops the keys to his now-demolished truck into his drink.

In her Las Vegas reflections show, she sings the song as a silver Jeep is lowered to the stage and catches on fire. Dancers carrying baseball bats (Louisville Sluggers) dance around her.

I'm not gonna lie; this song is one of my five favorite songs of all time. The music video won the CMT Music Video of the Year honor in 2013 and is just as powerful. Carrie said that when she first heard the song, she already had ideas for a possible video for it and wanted it to be a dark Wizard of Oz. She noted at the time (2012) that it was "a visual song." She added, "It's so dramatic. I'm not a drama person, but when you can make a movie in song form in three-and-a-half minutes, it's surreal."

When asked if her aim in the video was to generate controversy with the storyline, she said that it was not what she was aiming for at all. She said, "I try to avoid controversy in any form or fashion. It was just such a great story and such a mini-movie, listening to the song, and we really wanted to do it justice in the video."

Underwood is not afraid to show her religious side, and she does just that in "Somethin' In The Water." This music video was named Video of the Year by CMT in 2015.

For the music video, Carrie performed with dancers from the Shaping Sound Dance Academy dancing in the background and required 16 choir members, 12 dancers, three costume changes, and a custom-built tank of recycled water to create the "dance spectacle."

She co-wrote the song and gave the song its title.

This song was the title cut from her album in 2019 and the name of her headlining tour that she did to promote the album. She co-wrote the song with Nashville power songwriters Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna, and Liz Rose. Fans know Rose because of her credits for her co-writing with Taylor Swift.

The music video won the CMT Music Awards Video of the Year honor in 2019 and shows Underwood on stage and backstage. For the video and the tour, eye stickers were created under her eyes that show tears and glitter. Carrie wore them on stage, in the music video and of course the album's cover.

Carrie shows off her impressive acting skills in the music video as she weeps, sings, and tells the story of a woman in pain faking her happiness and noting that you can't "Cry Pretty."

This was the CMT Music Awards Video of the Year in 2010. The music video features Underwood and her entourage, who are all wearing flapper party gowns. In the clip, she warns everyone about smooth-talking, attractive men and their true intentions.

The man in the video has designs on Carrie's character in the video. In the end, along with her empowered entourage, she has a showdown with the man in a back alley and defiantly spurns his advances, leading him to give up and walk away.
