As a fan of Atlantic Coast Conference basketball and especially the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, I found myself fixated with the Big Ten Conference and the women's basketball program at the University of Iowa. I have to confess, the player that peaked my interest was of course, Caitlin Clark.
Let's take a look at a few of the records that Caitlin now owns.
-Caitlin scored 30 or more points in more games than any other player male or female in the past 25 years in the Division 1 conference
-She holds the record for the most three pointers in the Big Ten
-During one of her NCAA Championship games, she scored the most points ever in in one quarter of the game
-Even as a Freshman player, Caitlin set a new single game record for the most points and three pointers
One of the few sad moments in Caitlin's college basketball career was coming up a bit short in the 224 championship game against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Just How Does Catilin Clark Do It
First, Caitlin Clark's success does not happen by accident. Caitlin begins by simply writing things down. In fact, while in the second grade, Caitlin took out a piece of paper and wrote these words: "Get drafted into the WNBA." It happened.
Caitlin also sets herself a daily goal of being in the gym and honing her craft. Caitlin says that her plan is to shoot baskets every day. I would also guess that Caitlin possesses the same "eye of the tiger" that Michael Jordan did during his career. No one was going to outwork Michael. Hard work and focus will absolutely pay off.

And remember, God don't make no junk. You, yes you are awesome! Now go be awesome!

Kane Brown Parties With Famous Friends at Raleigh Tour Stop
Kane Brown made an impressive entrance at the PNC Arena on Friday night. The curtain dropped and the country singer was lowered on a platform, tethered for safety. Brown started the night with “Bury Me in Georgia” as he waved to the crowd from the suspended rig. The arena went crazy as soon as Brown came into view. The entrance seemed appropriate as Brown’s “In the Air” tour is coming to a close in a few months.
Brown interacted with the crowd during and in between songs. He waved, smiled, and pointed so many fans. At one point, he walked through the crowd to a stage set up in the very front of the arena. The fans who had seats far from the stage ended up getting a front row, acoustic performance. Brown asked fans to identify themselves if they were military veterans. He spoke with a few and then dedicated “Homesick” to everyone who has bravely served. He noted that being away from family is not easy, especially for servicemen and service women.
The Georgia native pulled out all his party tricks during the show complete with a confetti cannon. He invited the members of Parmalee as well as Tyler Hubbard onstage for an energetic performance of “Famous Friends.” When it came time to sing 2023 CMT Music Video of the Year “Thank God,” Brown explained to the crowed that while his wife, Katelyn, who sings the duet on the track, is home because she is “about to pop in a couple weeks.” Brown is set to welcome his first son soon. Brown ended the night with “Like I Love Country Music.”
To kick off the night, Parmalee opened for Brown. They were fun and upbeat. The band even surprised the crowd by performing “Yeah!” by Usher. Tyler Hubbard took stage soon after and played all of his hit songs. Some songs he played guitar while center stage while during other songs, he interacted with the crowd. Hubbard utilized the size of the stage and was able to wave at fans in every corner of the arena. He helped build the anticipation for Brown to take stage.
The ”In the Air” tour continues with a little over a dozen stops left. Hopefully Brown will make it home for the birth of his son and can take some time off to spend with family.
