Brief History of the Lumberton Rescue and EMS
In 1954, Hurricane Hazel tore through the Tar Heel state. Like many other areas, Hazel left behind major damage across Robeson County. In an effort to take care of its citizens, members formed the Robeson County Rescue Squad.
Today, the Lumberton Rescue and EMS proudly provides 24 hour Technical Rescue and Paramedic Service to the citizens of Lumberton and Robeson County.
In 1977, the Lumberton Rescue and EMS relocated to its present location at 2391 North Roberts Avenue in Lumberton, North Carolina. Thanks to the generous contributions of the citizens of Robeson County, this facility was completely built and paid for.
