Just in Time for Veteran’s Day, Harnett County Introduces ‘Thank-A-Vet’ Program
The Harnett County Register of Deeds is launching the Thank-A-Vet Program on Friday, November 8, 2024. This new initiative aims to recognize and support veterans in the local community.
Veterans who participate in the program can receive a photo ID card that enables them to access exclusive discounts and special offers from participating local businesses. This program serves as both a way to honor veterans’ service and provide tangible benefits within the community.
To obtain the veteran ID card, veterans need to:
– Visit the Harnett County Register of Deeds office
– Present their DD-214 discharge papers
– Provide current identification
– Complete required certification.
The Thank-A-Vet Program represents a collaborative effort between the county government and local businesses to support the veteran community. Similar programs have been successful in other North Carolina counties, such as Johnston County, where local businesses actively participate in offering benefits to veterans.
If you are a business and are interested in participating – Complete the Business Thank-a-Vet Program Participation Form.
For more information about the program or to participate, veterans can contact the Harnett County Register of Deeds office at (910) 893-7540.
