Stars & Guitars 2024 Moment of the Night: LOCASH Gets Zach Top Involved in ‘I Love This Life’
When Chris Lucas and Preston Brust walked into the backstage area of Stars & Guitars 2024 in the Crown Coliseum for the first time Monday, we knew we were in for an adventure.
The country duo have been at this game for a while, but they still came in full of pep and smiles, and it was clear they were going to make this a night to remember.
And boy did they. But no moment was better than the way they closed out with their fifth song of the night, “I Love This Life.”
As Lucas began strumming his guitar for the intro and said his “ADD was kicking in,” Brust joked “I have no idea what he’s about to do, I just realized. This is way off script.”
What followed was a medley kicked off by “Use Your Love” by The Outfield – that Brust joked “Zach Top wrote that song… he was 6 years old, incredible.” The medley continued with Bryan Adams’ “Summer of ’69” and of course “Zach Top wrote that song too. He was 7 years old. Another good one.”
Finally back on course, Lucas said they were thinking of those songs when they wrote “I Love This Life.”
Getting the audience on their feet, they once again got Zach Top involved, saying the song needed a guitar solo from him.
The entire production summed up the Unplugged, Unscripted, and Unforgettable night that we expect from Stars & Guitars every year.
