E.E. Smith, South View Football Game Postponed After Tragic Accident
This week’s scheduled football game between E.E. Smith and South View has been postponed, in response to the tragic death of three players on the Golden Bulls’ football team.

Cumberland County Schools issued a statement Thursday morning saying the homecoming game at South View would be made up at a later date.
"Out of respect for the students’ families, classmates and staff, the South View High School Homecoming football game, originally scheduled for Friday, Oct. 10, against E.E. Smith High School, has been postponed."
Three E.E. Smith football players were reportedly killed in an accident Wednesday night on Rosehill Road.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, loved ones and the entire E.E. Smith Golden Bulls community during this difficult time. The top priority of the E.E. Smith High School administration is to provide support to students, faculty and staff as they process this tragedy. The district’s Student Services team will be on-site today to offer counseling and emotional support. Out of respect for the families of those impacted and the school community, many of whom are still receiving this news, we are not releasing additional details at this time."
According to the Fayetteville Police Department, four individuals were in a car that ran off the road and hit a telephone pole in the 2700 block of Rosehill Road.
"Three occupants succumbed to their injuries on scene and one occupant was air lifted to UNC Chapel Hill in critical condition."
