closures and delays

While much of the area has started to come out from under the snow that blanketed the Fayetteville area Saturday night, some areas are still feeling the impacts.

As we head toward Wednesday, February 4, several school systems have decided to go remote once again, as it isn't safe for some to get to school. This is particularly true in rural areas with more shade impacting the roads. Here's a look at what's been announced for Wednesday.

School Systems

Cumberland County Schools - Asynchronous Remote Wednesday

Cumberland County Schools will continue asynchronous remote instruction for students on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, as hazardous road conditions and ongoing cold temperatures persist. After members of the district’s Auxiliary Services team assessed road conditions today, several roads, parking lots and entryways in shaded areas were still icy. This decision was made with the safety of students, staff and families as the top priority.

Public Schools of Robeson County - Closed Wednesday

All PSRC schools and facilities will be closed on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, due to inclement weather conditions. Stay tuned to official district social media channels and our website for updates on operations for Thursday, February 5, 2026.

Fort Bragg DoDEA Schools

Bladen County Schools - Asynchronous Remote Wednesday

Bladen County Schools will continue with asynchronous remote learning tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4. District administrators have been in communication with the North Carolina Department of Transportation and Bladen County Emergency Services and there continues to be widespread concern with ice on secondary roads.

Due to treacherous road conditions remaining on some roads in our district, Clinton City Schools will operate on a remote learning schedule February 4, 2026.

Harnett County Schools - Open Regular Schedule Wednesday

Harnett County Schools will operate on a REGULAR schedule tomorrow, February 4, for all students and staff.

Hoke County Schools - Remote Wednesday

With continued treacherous conditions on the secondary roads in Hoke County and out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of our students and staff, Hoke County Schools will have a remote learning day for all students on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Lee County Schools - Remote Wednesday

Due to continued unsafe road conditions across the county, all schools will operate on a remote learning day tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4, 2026, for students.

Moore County Schools - 2-hour Delay Wednesday

Due to current road conditions, including slush on several secondary roadways, and to allow our drivers to operate safely in daylight, Moore County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Wednesday, February 4.

Richmond County Schools - Remote Thursday

District staff have been checking road conditions throughout the afternoon, and many secondary roads remain covered with snow, as a result Richmond County Schools will continue to operate on a remote instructional day tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4th for all students. Staff will also have an optional workday with a two-hour delay.

Sampson County Schools - Remote Wednesday
