Fayetteville State Captures 28th CIAA Golf Title

Fayetteville State won its 28th conference title at the 2026 CIAA Men’s Golf Championship.

The 2026 CIAA Men's Golf Championship went to Fayetteville State at Mill Creek Golf Course. The team finished at +8, earning its 28th conference title, per The CIAA. Landon Cabingas landed second at 1-under-par (215). Winston-Salem State's Cameron Lutterloh grabbed medalist honors at 4-under-par (212).

The Broncos shot +6, even par, and +2 across three days to finish with +8. Winston-Salem State (+12) stayed close until the final four holes. Virginia State took third at +31. Bluefield State finished at +36, while Livingstone came in at +51.

Cabingas made the CIAA All-Tournament Team after posting the second-lowest score at the championship. Round two brought his best work, a tournament-low 69. He birdied holes 3, 7, 10, and 12, then eagled hole 6.

The final round saw Cabingas birdie holes 5, 6, 12, and 13. Hole 16 brought another eagle. Round one started strong with a birdie on hole 2, which set his pace for what followed.

Lutterloh fired a 5-under-par 67 in the closing round. The final four holes changed everything. He became the only player to complete all three rounds under par.

Sutton Dreier and Patrico Ramirez delivered counting scores in all three rounds. Andrew McCarver strengthened the roster. Four players from the team placed among the top 10.

The program last won in 2023. Runner-up finishes came in 2024 and 2025. Winston-Salem State put three players inside the top 10.

A three-way tie for third at +1 (217) included Eman Lim from Bluefield State, Christopher Baguma from Virginia State, and Samuel Kozisek from Virginia State. All three made the CIAA All-Tournament Team.
