Alan Jackson Issues Statement After Canceling Multiple Shows
Earlier this month, we reported Alan Jackson had canceled a couple of shows due to an unspecified illness.
Now, the country star is opening up about what caused the cancellations.
The shows, which were slated for August 16 and August 17, did not go on as planned due to Jackson’s illness.
Additionally, he also sat out during the ACM Honors in Nashville on August 22.
Jackson’s daughter attended the event in his absence and accepted the Cliffie Stone Icon Award on his behalf.
In a statement posted on twitter, the country legend expressed his gratitude over winning the award.
He also took the opportunity to shed light on his recent absence from the country music scene — Citing a respiratory infection as the culprit.
However, Jackson wanted to let his fans know he is in the midst of recovering.
Here’s to hoping he retakes the stage in the very near future.
Thanks to everybody at the @ACMawards for honoring me last night. Special thanks to my daughter, Mattie, @ChrisStapleton . @JonPardi and @Lauren_Alaina! And special thanks to all my fans! pic.twitter.com/8bddFm3WRW
