Aaron Paul On Bryan Cranston Being His Baby Boy’s Godfather: Was A ‘No Brainer’
Aaron Paul made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday (April 19), where he spoke about the new baby boy that he and his wife, Lauren Paul, recently welcomed.
The Breaking Bad star’s wife first broke the news that they were expecting last December in an Instagram post with the caption, “We can’t wait to meet you baby! We love you so much already.”
Aaron Paul revealed that he asked his good friend, Dos Hombres mezcal business partner and Breaking Bad co-star Bryan Cranston to be the godfather.
“I know Bryan Cranston is a good friend of yours,” Fallon said. “Has he seen the baby yet?” “He has. He has met the baby,” Paul replied. “Y’know, I asked Bryan on his birthday if he would be our baby’s godfather.”
“I’m assuming…” Fallon began before Paul interjected and joked, “He said no, he’s very busy. No, he’s very excited, very honored. I love the man to death. He’s one of my best friends in the world, and, so yeah, it was just a no-brainer.”
The two will reunite their Breaking Bad characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman as guest stars in the final season of Better Call Saul, Paul confirmed during his late-night appearance. Per Variety, co-creator Peter Gould confirmed at Paley Fest, “I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah,” Gould said on the panel. “How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season.”
