Twisters, the much-anticipated sequel to the 1996 movie Twister, includes some of the biggest names in country music on its soundtrack. Wilson’s “Out Of Oklahoma” joins the lineup of artists, including Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Jelly Roll, Shania Twain, Thomas Rhett, Kane Brown, and more.
“‘Out of Oklahoma’ my new song and video for the @twistersmovie is out now. It’s wild how life throws a theme at you ain’t it. My life the past few years has felt like a twister…hence why I titled my new album Whirlwind,” Wilson posted on Instagram.
She continued, “So when I got the opportunity to write a song for the new @twistersmovie, it was a challenge I couldn’t pass up. Reading Kate’s story, I found a lot of parallels between our lives. We’re both chasing wild and crazy careers, but they make us feel something and give us a sense of home. Make sure to catch the new @twistersmovie in theaters July 19, and get ready to hear my whirlwind story out Aug. 23 on my new album.”
Twisters, “the current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster,” comes from the producers of the Jurassic Park, Bourne, and Indiana Jones series. It was directed by Lee Isaac Chung and brings a group of people together to try and predict the “immense power of tornadoes,” according to a press statement.
