Combs was surprised by his Sony Music Nashville record label recently, with five new plaques commemorating historic new certifications at Combs’ 5-year anniversary appearance at the Grand Ole Opry.
The plaques included two diamond certifications for “When It Rains It Pours” and “Hurricane.” This marks Combs as the first artist to have three Diamond country singles certified by the RIAA (joining “Beautiful Crazy,” which was Diamond certified last year).
Additionally, Combs’ 2022 album Gettin’ Old is certified Platinum, while 2019’s What You See Is What You Get is certified 5X Platinum. To cap off the night, Combs’s Grammy-nominated version of the Tracy Chapman hit “Fast Car” was also certified 5X Platinum.
Luke posed with his new plaques backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, where fans and friends congratulated the two-time Entertainer of the Year.
The country superstar just wrapped his 2024 stadium tour to a sold-out crowd in cities for multiple nights each weekend.
Luke recently told CMT about his new duet buddy Post Malone, “He’s so nice. He’s just an unbelievable guy. You can’t help but be happy around him, to be honest. He’s just in such a great mood all the time, at least when I’m around him. I’m sure he has his moments like everybody else. But, he’s just welcoming to anyone and everyone.”
