Thomas Rhett Says Christmas Is ‘Insane’ At His House
Christmas is Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren’s favorite holiday, and even though it would be a hectic time at their house if they just celebrated with their family of six, if you ever see their social media around Christmastime, then you know the celebration is way bigger and more chaotic than that.
Thomas told us, “It’s insane. I mean, it genuinely is. And the more that our siblings have kids too, … We have four, Lauren’s sister has two, my sister just had her second, my dad has a son. There’s like 12 kids at my house, including 17 adults. So, what we try to do, is Lauren loves for everybody to spend the night in the same place. And I think our family’s like, ‘Why do we have to spend the night?’ Cause Lauren wants to watch Christmas movies until 12 o’clock at night, so we can all do Santa Claus together, and the kids wake up and do the thing.”
He added, “We have about 20-something people spend the night at our house. People are sleeping on the floor, air mattresses, the whole nine. But it’s really awesome when you get to wake up, and my mom makes homemade cinnamon rolls and Lauren’s grandmother will make cheese grits and I’ll do bacon and sausage. Like everybody’s just kind of like doing the Christmas morning all together, and opening presents takes us an eternity.”

Thomas Rhett and Teddy Swims
Rhett and Best New Artist GRAMMY Awards nominee Teddy Swims teamed up for new version of “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman.” The song was first released in August on Thomas’ About A Woman album as a solo song.
Thomas adds Teddy Swims’ signature vocals to the song, making it a duet. Rhett said of the new collaboration, “This collaboration has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now. Teddy and I first met through our producer Julian Bunetta back in 2020, and it was pretty much instant musical chemistry.”
He added, “I sang on his song ‘Broke’ and then we ended up writing ‘Angels (Don’t Always Have Wings)’ in under an hour. I’ve been wanting to release something with him again ever since, and his voice on this song is insane.”
Teddy Swims commented, “Been waiting to release this song with Thomas Rhett for a while!! He has been in my corner since day one, so when he called me to join him on ‘Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman,’ it was a no-brainer. It’s an honor to join him on this track—he’s a legend. I love you, big bro!”
They performed the song at the 58th Annual CMA Awards on November 20.
