Riley Green: Yes, He’s Fished With This Country Superstar
Riley Green’s new album, Don’t Mind If I Do, features his latest single, “Damn Good Day to Leave,” and a collaboration with Luke Bryan called “Reel Problems,” a tongue-in-cheek song about problems out on the lake while fishing. We wondered if Riley had a chance to go fishing with Luke before they recorded the song.
Riley told us, “That was one of the first things we did together, was go fishing at his lake down south of Nashville. And we had a great time. I mean, he’s such an easy dude to hang out with. You know, and him growing up in Georgia, I mean, we grew up the same way, so we immediately hit it off.”
He added, “And probably that fishin’ trip is why he was the first person I sent this song to when I wrote it, knowin’ his passion for that and also the type of music that he likes and touring with him. Those relationships are how these things happen. It’s always really organic and just through friendship.”

Green recently announced that he will be launching a new tour on March 27, 2025, which will run through August 23 in the U.S. and Canada, to support his album, Don’t Mind If I Do.
Riley told us of the new tour, “So, my tour is gonna be the ‘Damn Country Music Tour’ next year. We’re gonna take out Ella Langley – with two songs together, one of them being such a big hit and then the other one, the title track of my album, it seems really fitting to have her back on the tour with me, and I was glad to get her. And Drake White, who’s a great buddy of mine from right down the road.”
He added, “I love that we’re gonna have two Alabama artists on tour with me already. And I’m gonna take out a lot of guys and girls that I’m a big fan of, people that I enjoy being around, writers that I like writing with, and try to make this tour.”
Green concluded, “As much as ‘My Last Rodeo Tour’ was a huge step for me, I wanna make this one even bigger, and also wanna make it something that I really enjoy doing because I’m getting to a place now where, you know, I’m not living a life and then going on tours. This is my life, you know? And I wanna try to enjoy it and hopefully make this something that I’ll do for the rest of my life.”
Riley released his new album, Don’t Mind If I Do, in mid-October.
