Blake Shelton Plans On Recording For A Long Time
Blake Shelton revealed in a recent interview what his album plans are as he recently released a new song called “Texas.” He said, “I bet you next month (January), I’ll know when the album date is gonna be.”
As Blake shares, the project depends on what his new song does on country radio. He noted that the “truth is” his new record label will “probably gonna wait” and see what happens with this song. He added that then “they’ll probably start the clock.”
As for his recording career, it will last for quite a while. He said, “I’ll tell ya this. I have some things cut, but I’m gonna keep recording until they tell me time’s up.”
Speaking of recording, one of Blake’s biggest songs is his 2017 Christmas duet “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” with his wife, Gwen Stefani. Shelton told us of how the song came about in an interview a few years ago, “I wanted to be a part of this (Gwen’s Christmas album), but I didn’t know how, and I just started to write, and I came up with a song title, and I sent it to her I said, ‘Hey, I’ve got an idea, you may like it, you may hate it. I’m just throwing it at ya for your Christmas album.’ And I only meant for it to be for her, and I sent it on a voice memo, and she flipped, and they ended up writing the song the next day.”
He added, “They finished it, and they wrote it as a duet, and I was even more excited about that to be able to sing on her record.”
