Ronnie Dunn: This Ain’t Your Grandpa’s Las Vegas
Mention Las Vegas and some folks automatically think of the Rat Pack, Wayne Newton, late-life Elvis or even Liberace. Ronnie Dunn says things have changed, however.
The celebrated country vocalist has reprised his role as one-half of Brooks & Dunn over the last two years, playing a Caesar’s Palace residency with Reba McEntire. “There’s nothing wrong with it,” he says through his record label. “Right now it’s great; we’re all lovin’ it.”
The Vegas entertainment vibe is different these days, and that’s apparently why stars from multiple genres flock to the city. “It’s funny,” Ronnie observes. “We were doing the last stint at Caesar’s and they had the Jason Bourne movie premiere there and we were all invited to come down, so we did. And of all people Donny Osmond was sitting in front of me. He turns around and we start talking and he said, ‘You know we came here, Marie and I, to do a six-week stint and has been nine years.’ So, Vegas has changed a whole lot from what people envisioned years ago back in the Wayne Newton era and stuff like that. It’s rockin’ these days.”
There are a handful of dates left this year to see the legendary trio. Check the schedule and buy tickets for Reba, Brooks & Dunn Together In Vegas here.
