Brett Young Isn’t Letting Success Go To His Head
Getting comfortable in his success is a no-go for CMA New Artist of the Year nominee Brett Young. The problem is, sometimes that’s all too easy to do.
Brett has had his share of rising star moments, but he tries to keep them in perspective. “You do have these moments where somebody is singing your song back to you, or every once in a while somebody stops you in the airport and wants a picture,” Brett notes in an interview made available by his record label. “And those moments do remind you that things are going well. But for the most part you still wake up tomorrow at 4:30 and [realize] some stuff really hasn’t changed at all.”

Taking the long view and putting in the work to make it last is the better way to go. “[Those moments are] really gratifying and really exciting,” Brett continues. “But at the same time I think it’s important to keep your head down and keep the same work ethic and keep doing the same things that got you there in the first place.”
He’s certainly putting in the work these days. Brett’s The Caliville Tour featuring special guest Carly Pearce has dates scheduled through February. Stops in the next few weeks include Cleveland, Nashville, Louisville and Grand Rapids. See a complete list of dates here.
