Dan + Shay On Playing Joe Jonas And Sophie Turner’s Surprise Wedding
Dan + Shay performed at Nissan Stadium at Nashville’s CMA Fest on Friday night and brought the crowd of over 50, 000 to their feet several times.
Before the duo took the stage, they addressed a comparison to Game Of Thrones character Jon Snow that has been going around town since Dan started to grow his hair out and now has a bit of a beard. Dan told us, “I’ll take it as a compliment.” To which Shay jokes, “What you don’t actually know is that this is Jon Snow we did the old switcher and nobody’s really noticed until now.”
Dan adds, “We performed at [Game of Thrones co-star] Sophie’s (Turner) wedding (to Joe Jonas) so I guess it’s all kinda in the family.” As for the wedding Dan shared, “I feel like it was such a crazy night, it was so chill but a lot of Game Of Thrones connections.”
As for the secret wedding that took place in Vegas in May right after the Billboard Music Awards, the duo had to keep a pretty big secret. Smyers says, “We told literally no one and then it went live on an Instagram story so at that point we were like, ‘Okay, cool.’ It was super cool for us, the Jonas Brothers have become friends over the years and they texted us about three or four days in advance and then after the awards they were like, ‘Meet us here and there was an Elvis impersonator and the wedding and it was great.”
